Focus Dashboard
Sidebar: Dashboards Focus
The Focus Dashboard highlights items requiring immediate attention. It surfaces high-risk items, overdue mitigation measures, and unassigned risks that need owners.
What You Will See
- High and critical rated risks
- Overdue mitigation measures
- Risks without assigned owners
- Items approaching due dates
When to Use
- Daily risk management check-ins
- Prioritizing your workday
- Team standup meetings

Project Dashboard
Sidebar: Dashboards Project
The Project Dashboard provides detailed analytics for a single project. You must first select a project to view its specific risk matrix, Monte Carlo simulation results, and EMV/ETV trend data.
Note: After navigating to the Project Dashboard, use the project selector dropdown to choose which project to analyze. The dashboard will populate with that project's data.
What You Will See
- 5x5 risk matrix visualization
- Monte Carlo simulation results
- EMV (Expected Monetary Value) trends
- ETV (Exposure to Value) analysis
When to Use
- Project-specific deep dives
- Contingency planning
- Project steering meetings
- Quantitative risk analysis
Mitigations Dashboard
Sidebar: Dashboards Mitigations
The Mitigations Dashboard focuses on your action register, showing all mitigation measures and control actions. Track progress, identify bottlenecks, and measure the effectiveness of your risk responses.
What You Will See
- Action register overview
- Mitigation effectiveness tracking
- Status breakdown (planned/in-progress/complete)
- Owner workload distribution
When to Use
- Tracking action completion
- Balancing team workloads
- Measuring mitigation ROI
- Action review meetings
Compliance Dashboard
Sidebar: Dashboards Compliance
The Compliance Dashboard performs a health check on your risk management configuration. It identifies incomplete records, missing required fields, and configuration gaps that could affect data quality.
What You Will See
- Configuration completeness scores
- Health check results by area
- Missing required field indicators
- Data quality metrics
When to Use
- Audit preparation
- Data quality reviews
- System configuration checks
- Onboarding new projects
Generating Exports
Risk Companion offers multiple export options for sharing data with stakeholders, archiving for compliance, or integrating with other systems.
How to Generate an Export
1Navigate to the Data
Go to the Risk Register, Action Register, or Project Dashboard containing the data you want to export.
2Click Export Button
Look for the Export button in the toolbar above the data table. Click to reveal format options.
3Select Format
Choose your preferred format: Excel, CSV, or PDF. The download will begin automatically.
Risk Register
Export your complete risk register with all risk details, scores, owners, and mitigation links.
Action Register
Export all mitigation measures and control actions with their status and linked risks.
Project Reports
Generate comprehensive project reports with visualizations, metrics, and Monte Carlo results.
Monte Carlo Results
Monte Carlo simulation runs thousands of scenarios to predict the range of possible outcomes for your project. Understanding the results helps you set realistic expectations and appropriate contingencies.
Where to Find Monte Carlo Results
Monte Carlo simulation results are displayed on the Project Dashboard. After selecting a project, scroll down to view the simulation outputs including percentile values and the S-curve visualization.
To View Results
- 1Navigate to Dashboards Project
- 2Select a project from the dropdown
- 3View the Monte Carlo section with S-curve and percentiles
What You Will See
- S-curve visualization
- P50, P85, P95 percentile values
- Cost and schedule impact ranges
- Sensitivity analysis (risk contributors)
Understanding Percentiles (P50, P85, P95)
Percentiles tell you the probability of achieving a certain outcome. Think of them as confidence levels for your estimates.
50% Confidence
There is a 50% chance the actual outcome will be at or below this value. This is the median result - equally likely to be higher or lower.
If P50 cost is $10M, half the simulations came in at $10M or less.
85% Confidence
There is an 85% chance the actual outcome will be at or below this value. A commonly used planning target that accounts for most uncertainties.
If P85 duration is 18 months, 85% of simulations finished in 18 months or less.
95% Confidence
There is a 95% chance the actual outcome will be at or below this value. A conservative estimate that covers most scenarios.
If P95 cost is $14M, only 5% of simulations exceeded $14M.
Reading the S-Curve
The cumulative distribution function (S-curve) shows the probability of achieving each outcome value. The steeper the curve, the more certainty in your estimates.
- X-axis: Outcome values (cost, duration, etc.)
- Y-axis: Cumulative probability (0-100%)
- Curve shape indicates estimate confidence
- Flat sections indicate high uncertainty ranges
How to Use Monte Carlo Results
Apply these results to make better decisions about contingencies and planning.
Custom Filters and Views
Tailor your view of the data to focus on what matters most. Use filters to narrow down results and customize columns to see the information you need.
How to Apply Filters
1Open Filter Panel
Click the Filter button in the toolbar above any data table to reveal filter options.
2Select Criteria
Choose field (owner, category, status, etc.), operator (equals, contains, etc.), and value.
3Add More Filters
Click Add Filter to combine multiple criteria. Use AND/OR logic for complex filters.
4Apply and Save
Click Apply to filter the view. Save the filter as a custom view for future use.
Filter by Any Field
Filter risks and actions by owner, category, status, date range, risk level, or any custom field you have defined.
Sort and Group
Sort by multiple columns and group risks by category, owner, phase, or status to identify patterns quickly.
Column Customization
Show or hide columns to create focused views. Drag and drop to reorder columns to match your workflow.
Save Custom Views
Save your filter and column configurations as named views. Switch between views instantly without reconfiguring.
Share with Team
Share your custom views with team members so everyone can benefit from optimized configurations.
Export Current View
Export exactly what you see on screen. Your filters and column selections apply to the exported data.
